Initially this antique Qashqai Pelas appears to be monochrome, and considering the exquisite quality and intensity of its color, one color could well suffice here. But a more careful look discloses the many subtle gradations of terracotta in fine irregular stripes and bands that actually make up the design. There is in consequence a gentle, underlying rhythm that ripples across the field, creating an illusion of space and depth to complement and enhance the wonderful tonality of the piece.
