Swags or garlands of blue and orange flowers appear to drape in superimposed rows across the ivory ground of this exuberant Bidjar. Bold spiral arabesques crown the apex of each garland with dark blue floral wreaths to either side. The rest of the ivory ground is filled by a fine scatter of tiny flowers in this veritable “primavera” of Persian rugs. A dark, blue-ground turtle border frames and structures the burgeoning display of decorative vitality, which truly stands out amidst the run of Bidjars and other Persian rugs as well.
