Although rich in color, this antique Qashqai Pelas has a reserved propriety resulting from the underlying order of its design. The pattern appears relatively simple with its vertical bands of rust red alternating with light green. But this alternation is organized about a single, broader central red column, flanked in turn by the symmetrical wings of narrower bands. Consequently, the design is balanced and organized despite the improvisational approach fundamental to its composition. The quality of the saturated red and green tones is exceptionally beautiful.
