The design of this Quashqai Pelas appears initially rely simply on the alternation of dark and medium brown bands with tan ones. But the arrangement or system of repetition is carefully and precisely mirrored about a central axis of symmetry, right down to the use of slightly contrasting pinstripes at the edges of the broader bands to sharpen the effect of the design. Here the true appreciation of the design depends on discernment of the viewer. The subtle blending of different tones in the darker areas is especially lovely.
