At Gensler, the value of our work stems from its positive impact on the human experience. We are a dynamic and collaborative design firm uniting creativity, research, and innovation to solve complex problems for our clients. Our work challenges conventional ideas about architecture and the built environment. We aren’t just designing buildings — we are reimagining cities and places that make a difference in people’s lives. Founded in 1965, Gensler has built a team of 6,000 professionals who partner with clients in over 100 countries each year. Everything we do is guided by our mission: to create a better world through the power of design.
Forma, from the Latin meaning form or shape, explores the structure, balance, and beauty found in both the natural world and the built environment. It speaks to the essence of design: how form defines space, and how space, in turn, shapes experience.
Warp & Weft collaborated with Gensler, serving as product design consultant, for Forma. The collection reimagines familiar elements from landscape and architecture into distinctly modern rug compositions.
Four design series — Block, Orbit, Tray, and Block Echo — anchor the collection. Within each, three patterns expand the narrative, creating a cohesive visual language that is both expressive and versatile.
Block features angular, graphic fields of color inspired by architectural simplicity and proportion. Orbit presents a softer, more fluid aesthetic, using expressive linework to evoke natural and celestial patterns. Tray focuses on small-scale designs that reference both the tactile qualities of materials and the layered textures of topography. Block Echo reinterprets the Block concept through repetition, creating rhythmic compositions that explore depth and movement.
Offered in four distinct constructions including hand-knotted, hand-tufted, Axminster and flatwoven, Forma adapts effortlessly to any environment, from intimate residential interiors to bold commercial or hospitality spaces. Each technique showcases the artistry and precision that define Warp & Weft craftsmanship.
Two refined color directions — one bright and vibrant, the other neutral and understated — provide a curated foundation, with custom coloration available for truly bespoke design.
With twenty-four individual options, Forma offers a seamless blend of artistry, material integrity, and contemporary design in one single collection.
